These past two nights we’ve had company for dinner. Last night, a schoolmate of the Artist came for dinner, as he was in Colorado Springs for work. The Artist hasn’t seen his classmate, Sean in over 24 years – since they were in 10th grade! Dinner was pasta with shrimp, grilled chicken with a creamy arribiata sauce. Yum! Sean brought his coworker, Cory with him, so she and I were the “outsiders” as the two others caught up. It was enjoyable to meet Sean (and Cory) and hear all about Sean and the Artist’s life when they were, growing up in Southern Missouri. Sean’s a great guy and we really enjoyed having them over for dinner.
Tonight, we had Jacque over, who worked with the Artist in the IT world years ago when they both had corporate jobs. I met Jacque about four years ago and haven’t seen her since. Jacque is such a sweet person. Good, kind heart, and just so wondeful to talk with. She brought salmon that she and her husband got on a salmon farm in Alaska last month. I’ve never really had “fresh” salmon, and I’m not much of a salmon fan. But this was really good. I steamed it on the grill – little bit of olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and lemon juice. About 12 minutes on the grill (wrapped in aluminum foil) and dinner was done.
It’s always great to have company over, especially when it’s nice people like Sean, Cory and Jacque.

Hey Steve, Thanks so much for the warm words. It was great to catch up with the Artist and to meet you. The food was awesome, almost as good as the company. I was honored to be invited into your home and treated like such royalty. And the homemade ice cream? C’mon, that’s so over the top!
You and the artist are always welcome at our humble abode any time you are in the area. Love to you both-
Sean
