I made french bread pizza for dinner tonight. I had some french bread in the freezer that I defrosted earlier today. I sliced it in half, added some olive oil, fresh basil from the garden, garlic, pepperoni, more olive oil, some cheese and more olive oil. Topped it with some more cheese and baked for 15 minutes. It tasted so good, all hot and bubbly. Here’s a picture before I added the final layer of cheese and baked.

What recipe/mix did you use for your French Bread? =)
Do you use the special french bread pans or just tin foil??
Do tell!
The recipe was one from Carol Fenster. I used a pan that was 12 x 4.5 x 3 – I think it’s some sort of special size bread pan that my partner had bought years ago. It held the shape of the loaf really well. I’ve tried it with tin foil on a cookie sheet, and it never holds up well for a good shape – always expanding.
Cool – Thanks, Steve =)
I love french bread pizza too =) I miss the crunch =)
Oo, that looks fab! We’ve got an excess of bread at the moment, so I should have a go at that …
I miss the crunch too. This was so good to have – it wasn’t the same as the Stouffer’s French Bread Pizza I used to eat a lot, but i don’t think you’d be disappointed. And it’s a great way to use that bread as it’s going stale.
