I reached out to the Chicago Celiac Chapter for help recently, as I am traveling there soon and was looking for places I could safely eat as well as go to brunch with some friends.
Within a day of emailing them and leaving them a voicemail, my queries returned both an email and a phone call. The phone call was from a chapter member (or on the board, I am not sure) named Joan. She was incredible. So helpful, and she knows how hard it is to travel at times with being Celiac.
She and I exchanged e-mails, and she told me someone would follow up with me soon. And they did! Today I received a list of restaurants in the Chicago area that either have a gf menu or can accomodate gf dining.
I have to commend the Chicago chapter for their hospitality and friendliness. Thanks to everyone in this chapter that helped me. You’re the best!

We missed your original shout out but are glad that someone from CSA was able to help you. We’re another group that meets in the area and would be glad to help if you need further information. Make sure you stop at Garrett’s popcorn while in the city. It’s all GF!
That’s awesome. I love when the power of the internet is harnessed for good!
