Recently, I took some time out of work and daily life to go visit my mom in South Florida. The Artist and I left Denver on a day when it was supposed to be 75 to head to sunny Florida where the temp was going to be….75. Huh?! We did get lucky in our weather, as we had temperatures that weren’t too hot and missed some cold and snow back home!
I had some great meals down there including chicken parmesean and pasta at Angelo’s Kitchen, where they have a gluten free menu (though it’s not online). The staff, including the hostess, all seemed to know what they were talking about, so I felt safe.
And finally, FINALLY, I got to try Pizza Fusion. WOW! While it’s a bit pricey, it was worth it as the pizza was amazing. They use fresh, organic ingredients throughout their menu. Great crust, great cheese and sauce. It was – well, real pizza. They also have gluten free beer and brownies, which they make fresh daily. Adam, who I presume is the manager at the location we visited, treated me to a gluten free beer while we waited. Even though I’m not a beer fan, it was good! And after a day at the beach, the pizza was fantastic. I realized too late that I didn’t save any for a photo! When are you coming to Colorado, Pizza Fusion??!
We also ate out at First Watch for breakfast. I brought a copy of their gluten free list from their website, and had no problems.
Besides dining out, I got to enjoy some great shrimp scampi that my mom made! And with my Glutino bagels, we had bagels and lox one morning. Yum! It was nice to eat out during vacation and have some safe meals.

Try Joan Bakes Gluten free for a great bagel! They come unbaked and are incredible since you bake them fresh.
Sorry email had one too many letters the first time.
I’m so glad you both had such a wonderful time with your mom! My son loves Pizza Fusion for the gf pizza and gf beer, but definitely not cheap like you said. The first time he went, I ended up subsidizing him because the pizza and two beers (and maybe tip?) cost $42. He loved it though just like you said. He actually talked to the manager who told him that they only make $1 on the gf crust (purchased from Still Riding). Those beers are pretty darn pricy. Glad you got a free one!

Steve,
I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit. I loved having you and “The Artist” and am glad you were able to find restaurants that had GF food that you enjoyed. Angelo’s Kitchen had been advertising GF food for quite some time and I definitely would go back and try the Chicken Parmasean that you had. The sauce was amazing! It was so great to see you and “The Artist” and I hope you’ll be able to visit again soon.
Love,
Mom
That sounds like a great vacation!! And i’m sure the sun and the fam was a bonus next to the pizza
Glad you had a good time!!
Glad to hear you had a great gluten free pizza experience!
There are several pizza places jumping on the gf-bandwagon in the Twin Cities (MN) area and I’ve only been to a couple but the best one by far is Michello’s in Blaine, MN. It is a drive for us but SO worth it. They make their own crust and breads in house and they are so good. The other place we like but haven’t been to lately is Pizza Luce and their crusts come from a local gf bakery. While good, the Michello’s crust beats it for traditional pizza lovers (in my mind) and Michello’s gluten free menu is offered daily while Pizza Luce is only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
If anyone is in the Twin Cities Metro area I would highly recommend these two! As a note, not all Pizza Luce locations offer the gf menu so look at their website first.
