What year are we living in?

It amazes me that I can get legally married in Iowa but not California. It’s 2009, right? Why is this still such an issue? I am surprised as to what California Supreme Court ruled….

I’m terribly sorry. It makes no sense. I’ll keep pestering my congresspeople. I figure the more states that jump on board the better. No state will want to be left out.
I couldn’t agree more, Steve. One has to wonder what it’s going to take. It’s one of those times, we’d like to see in the future (and the not too distant future) and see same sex marriage as legal and accepted. We all deserve the same rights everywhere. I can’t imagine how difficult fighting this continuing battle must be.
Hugs to you and The Artist,

that is an excellent comic and summarizes the stupidity nicely
it’s a surprising day when the midwest is more liberal than california…
…I mean, if that doesn’t show how backwards the whole gay marriage not being legal thing is then I don’t know what does (um, besides the cartoon).
hang in there guys, the world will change…eventually

I couldn’t agree more. That’s a great illustration by the way.

I think it is so awful and against equal rights that gay marriage is not legal in the whole United States. It is illegal to discriminate against gender, race and sexuality;yet not allowing gay marriage to take place is discriminating against sexual preference. I have always been a big gay rights supporter and I cannot believe that it is not legal in California and New York. It angers me that gay people are expected to pay the same amount in taxes that I am yet they are denied equal rights. That illustration is awesome. I believe gay rights is making progress and gay marriage will eventually be upheld in CA and available in every state as a right.
You and me both. Everyone we talk to around here can’t believe the 9th Circuit (which is the most liberal supreme court in the history of courts) could have ruled the way they did. UNREAL!
