That is so true! I've never heard that before, but it does make sense. I'll bet you can chuckle now- looking back and realizing how much you have grown in that time :)

Steve, you are doing such a good thing! I love that book, Pay It Forward! I am a newbie to Celiac, also have Interstitial Cystitis, which makes for not much to eat, since both require strict dietary restrictions. I need all the help I can get.

I gave up sugar completely for a while on the strict advice of a professional -- it wasn't my choice. And I felt the same way. My boyfriend could and did eat everything that was forbidden to me: white bread, peanut butter, ketchup.... all these normal, everyday things that I could once have.

I was bitter and angry that he didn't have to think about it and he didn't really care if I did. He ate the most obvious things like Twinkies and sugared sodas outside the house. But the real challenge was watching him enjoy the normal stuff that I could no longer have.

I've since gone back to eating things with "invisible" sugars, and your post reminded me of my previous frustration. I know how you feel.

Too true!
It is another language completely!

My sisters began "accusing" me of being a "foodie" when I started to learn more about the food we eat on my road to Gluten Freedom.

 Foodie? NOT.

Someone who wishes to be healthy? DEFINITELY!

Yes, it's true - we're breaking gluten free bread with Udi's foodies state wide.... and we're very grateful for the wonderful response we have had so far!

We're currently available in King Sooper's, with a white sandwich bread, snickerdoodles, muffins, cinnamon rolls and (my favorite) chocolate chip cookies (even thinking about them is making my mouth water, and I don't even have a gluten intolerance!)

Steve, you mentioned you would like to speak with someone at Udi's in regards, but you didn't leave a number.... here we are, what's up? You can reach me at kcone@udisfood.com

Be Udiful,
Katia

I'll have to give them a try again. I used to be a notorious bread snob, and I had some of their croissants thet werent made correctly, so I swore Udi's off forever! LOL. I think that becoming Celiac is the bread gods revenge against me! Anyhow, I'll give them another go :)
